BSMC Alexandria Scholarship Book Awards

This year we had 5 students that submitted a application for our Scholarship book awards.This year we gave 5 scholarships because they all did a great job on their essay, so we decided to bless them all with a scholarship award. No students left behind. If y’all could have seen their faces. The following are the scholarship recipients:

BSMC Maryland (Mother) Scholarship Presentation

The Maryland (Mother) Chapter of National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club (NABSTMC) will present Miss Olufolake Ashley Majekodunmi, a 2017 Graduate of Bowie High School with a Academic Scholarship on 19 August at 12:30 pm at Old Glory Harley Davidson. Ashley was the chapter’s 2017 William C. Price Memorial Scholarship winner ($1000), The chapter forwarded Ashley’s application for additional scholarship opportunities. Ashley won the Northeast Regional Scholarship and was the co-winner of the national scholarship. She will be presented with those awards on 19 August.  She will be attending University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the fall.

The chapter has presented a scholarship in conjunction with Old Glory Harley Davidson Dealership for over ten years to a deserving African American High School senior, living in Prince Georges County or Washington DC. Next year, through additional benefactors and fund raising, the chapter will increase the amount and number of scholarships awarded.

Buffalo Soldier Day in Orange County, Florida

In recognition of 9th and 10th Calvary Buffalo Soldiers and their contributions to our Country and the BSMC Orlando for our contributions in and around our local community.

The Orange County Mayor, Ms. Teresa Jacobs has Proclaimed today as Buffalo Soldier Day on Orange County, Florida.

Little Rock Buffalo Soldiers MC 2017 Bro Chris Scholarship awards

Buffalo Soldiers MC Little Rock presented the 2017 Bro Chris Scholarship awards to three outstanding students. Congrats and wishing all the best at college and the next level of their life.
Winner 2017 –  $500.00 – Mariah Adams attending University of Memphis, Memphis TN
Runner-up –  $250.00 – Carter Buckner attending University of Arkansas, Fayetteville AR
Runner-up –  $250.00 – Evan Buckner attending University of Arkansas, Fayetteville AR

Charlotte Troopers 2017 Scholarship Awards

President Joseph “Bossman” Little and Scholarship Chairman John “JO” Williams presented the Charlotte Trooper Scholarship of $1000 to Donald Alex Singleton. This young man was selected because of his leadership skills as well as school support. He attended Charlotte West High School. His credentials while in high school include drum major, treasurer for the student government, and a position on the city government council. While Donald was actively participating in school events, he achieved the highest level of Eagle Scouts of the Boy Scouts of America medal. Since 1912 of the millions of Boys Scouts, only 5 % achieve this goal. We are proud of this young man and will continue to follow him while at University of NC State.

In addition, Donald Alex Singleton, who is the son of Michael and Mochelle Belger, Donald was awarded the SouthEastern Frontier Scholarship award of $2000 and the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Scholarship of $2500. In all, this young man is set up for success from the NABSTMC with a total of $5500 in scholarships

North Carolina Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club 2017 Scholarship Awards

The North Carolina Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club – Fayetteville, Mother Chapter, (NCBSMC – Fayetteville) has awarded it’s 2017 Annual Scholarship Awards to Ms. Shaunna Gay of Terry Sanford High School and Mr. Ethan Locklear of Purnell Swett High School.  Both students are planning to attend four year colleges. 

Shaunna has been accepted to Hampton University as an ROTC Cadet.  Ethan has enlisted in the U.S. Marine Reserve and has been accepted to The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina.  They both plan to serve in the military upon completion of their education with the graduating class of 2021.

The NC Buffalo Soldiers wish them both much success in their future endeavors.
